Snow Ball Will Benefit DGH Surgical Services

“The Mystique of Masquerade” is the theme for the 4th annual Dorchester General Hospital Snow Ball, which will be held on Saturday, February 21. Guests are encouraged to wear a fancy dress mask to match their formal attire. The Dorchester General Hospital Foundation is the presenting sponsor for the formal dinner dance, which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge.

The goal of the 2009 Snow Ball Masquerade is to raise $100,000 for renovations to the pre-operative area in which patients are prepared for surgical procedures. The planned upgrades to the surgical services facility include new flooring and paint, new furniture in the family waiting area, and a redesigned “hub” for the nursing station, physician consultation area and office space.

Surgeon William Bair, MD, comments, “These upgrades to our facility will offer a more comfortable and private setting and enhance the experience for people who come to Dorchester General Hospital for surgical and endoscopic procedures.”

Dr. Bair adds, “We have a first class nursing staff at Dorchester General Hospital. They are experienced professionals and members of the community. Because they know many of the patients who come to us for care, they treat them like family. The level of care and compassion our patients receive is unsurpassed by any other hospital.”

The Dorchester General Hospital Snow Ball begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include fine dining and dancing to the music of High Society. Tickets for this popular event are $165 per person and can be reserved by calling 410-228-5511, ext. 5481.
