Members of Soroptimist International of Talbot County recently visited The Memorial Hospital at Easton to tour the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC). The Soroptimists have designated the CAC as their signature community support project for 2009.
The CAC is a service of the Talbot County Department of Social Services offered in partnership with Shore Health System and agencies that provide law enforcement, prosecution and social support for children who have been victims of sexual assault and other forms of abuse.
During their visit, the Soroptimist members met with Fayette Engstrom, MD, medical director of the CAC, and Detective Yvonne Freeman from the Easton Police Department. On hand from the Talbot County Department of Social Services were Director April Sharp; Assistant Director Sharon Harrington; CAC Coordinator Kawana Molock; Jennifer Wright, Child Protective Services supervisor; Paula Turner, an investigator for Child Protective Services; and Ellen Grunden from the Talbot County State’s Attorney’s Office.
