Talbot County Public Schools Summer Service Learning Course students recently met with Susan Luby, Regional Manager of Character Counts Mid Shore to discuss the role of good citizenship in the high school requirement of 75 hours of service learning. The students learned about one of the projects called “Honor Flight” where TCPS students have been writing thank you letters to World War II veterans. The notes are then distributed to the veterans who visit the WWII Memorial inWashington, DC. Veterans from all over this country are provided transportation to visit their memorial at no charge thanks to Honor Flight, a non-profit organization in Ohio.
