Many adults and teens are not aware they may need vaccines. Immunizations are not just for kids! A “tetanus” shot now includes Pertussis to prevent whooping cough and diphtheria, and is called the “Tdap” vaccine.
Anyone between the ages of 11 to 64 needs this vaccine, even if it has only been two years since their last tetanus shot.
There have been cases of Pertussis, or whooping cough, recently in our state. No one wants to be responsible for passing this disease along to a young child. If you are a parent of a young child or if you have younger brothers and sisters at home it is especially important for you to be immunized.
Ask your health care provider if you need the Tdap vaccine.
The TCHD will be holding two clinics in April to administer the vaccine:
Tuesday April 21 and Monday April 27, 2009
4:30 to 6:30 PM
100 South Hanson Street, Easton, Md.
There will be a $10 administrative fee per person.
Schedule an appointment by calling 410-819-5600. Walk-ins are also welcomed!
