As part of the ongoing Talbot County Solid Waste and Recycling Study (TCSWAR), the Talbot County Department of Public Works will conduct a series of public meetings to obtain the public’s input on solid waste and recycling issues within Talbot County. Topics anticipated to be discussed include, but are not limited to: the closing of the Mid-Shore 1 Regional Landfill (located in Talbot County) in December 2010; the opening of the new Mid-Shore 2 Regional Landfill (to be located in Caroline County in 2011); current in-county and Mid-Shore regional solid waste and recycling management practices; and options/citizen preferences for the handling of trash and/or recyclable generated within Talbot County once the Mid-Shore 1 Landfill closes. The meetings will be held on the dates, times, and locations listed below.
