Talbot Mentors is the beneficiary of this year’s Dine Around Eastern Shore, sponsored by the Chesapeake Chefs Association. Dine Around guests enjoy a progressive dinner with each course presented at a different Eastern Shore restaurant.
The gourmet culinary tour includes transportation by motor coach to each stop, with wine offered on board. Participating restaurants donate the wine and course served.
Each year, the Chefs Association selects an organization working with children in the area to benefit from the event. Talbot Mentors received $5500 in Dine Around proceeds.
The mentoring organization currently serves about 60 Talbot County youth. It matches children in need of an additional adult friend in their lives with volunteers wanting to make a difference.
The donation was presented at the Chesapeake Chefs Association holiday dinner, hosted by Chef Michael Rork at Town Dock Restaurant in St. Michaels, one of the restaurants participating in the Dine Around. Other participating restaurants included Fisherman’s Inn Restaurant in Grasonville, Mitchum’s Steak House in Trappe and Easton’s Tidewater Inn.
Diana Trams, Talbot Mentors Executive Director, accepted the donation, expressing her appreciation to the Chefs Association for its generosity in selecting Talbot Mentors as the Dine Around beneficiary.
Representing the Chefs Association, Pat Ernst thanked all the chefs and guests who come out to support the event.
“I’m really proud to be a part of this,” he said. “We have a wonderful time, meet wonderful people, and are able to support an organization that does such good for the community.”
