The Madrigal Singers Return to Old Wye

The Madrigal Singers will present “An Evening of Holiday Music” at Old Wye Church in Wye Mills on Saturday, December 6th at 7:30 p.m. This second concert in the Music at Wye series features carols and songs from the Renaissance to present day and will appeal to the whole family.

Directed by Cindy Bauchspies, The Madrigals are a group of seventeen auditioned a cappella singers from the Annapolis area who perform a variety of repertoire in venues ranging from European cathedrals, the White House, and the National Gallery to nursing homes and Orioles Baseball Park. They received the highest score at the Maryland State Choral Festival. Ms. Bauchspies was recently appointed Director of the United States Naval Academy Women’s Glee Club. For the past twenty-one years, Director Bauchspies has been developing choral programs at the Annapolis Area Christian High School, which now boasts of four choirs.

Old Wye Church, the setting for this Christmas season event, is a beautifully restored colonial church dating from 1721. It is known for its fine acoustics.
