Easton’s Tidewater Inn is back on the market again after a deal fell through with a Coral Gables, Florida firm that bills itself as the nation’s largest African-American real estate development company. Broker Marc Magazine of CB Richard Ellis in Washington said the contract with The Peebles Corporation has expired. Magazine said he believed tightening credit played a role in the failure of the deal. The 1940s-era inn has been for sale since January 2008 when the Carl M. Freeman Companies announced it was selling in the midst of a more than $8 million renovation process. Freeman bought the Tidewater for $4,225,000 at a foreclosure auction in 2005.
