Queen Anne’s and Caroline Counties approached the University of Maryland Medical System officials to put plans for a new hospital in Talbot County on hold and instead consider a location in either Queen Anne’s or Caroline Counties. Leaders in both counties have been calling for a new, more centrally-located hospital, and some officials say UMMS is ignoring their pleas. Talbot and Easton officials say moving the new hospital’s location out of their area would devastate the local economy.
