United Fund Benefits from 2009 Exclusively Eastern Shore Edition

On June 17th, the United Fund of Talbot County hosted a reception at the Inn at 202 Dover to celebrate the launch of the 2009 edition of Exclusively Eastern Shore. “The United Fund is honored to be selected for the third year as the designated beneficiary and sponsor of this publication,” Ann Jacobs, United Fund Executive Director told the crowd of attendees.

The theme of this year’s book is volunteerism – the act of giving back for the benefit of others, and all the businesses and individuals featured in the publication personify that spirit and collectively make a positive difference here in Talbot County. As Jacobs explained, “The profiled businesses help the community on many levels with the goods and services they provide; the United Fund agencies featured insure the local needs of individuals and families in the community are met; the annual deliberations of the agency review committee assure effective allocation of monies to United Fund partner agencies to meet underfunded human services needs; and the all-volunteer United Fund board of directors and advisory committee donate their time and energy in an effort to build a stronger, healthier and more sustainable community for everyone in Talbot County.”

Exclusively Eastern Shore offers the opportunity to showcase how thanks to the support of the its many generous donors and hardworking volunteers the United Fund is able to get the job done on behalf of those in need. Copies of the 2009 edition will arrive in mailboxes throughout Talbot and surrounding counties by June 29th.
