Weather permitting, the westbound span of the William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial (Bay) Bridge (US 50/301) will be closed to traffic temporarily during overnight hours.
Drivers can expect full westbound span closures Monday through Thursday from as early as 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, and Saturday from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning. Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span during these closures. All lanes will reopen for morning rush hour.
Contractors will be replacing railings and painting the westbound span as part of the ongoing Bay Bridge Preservation Project. Deck replacement will resume later this fall and will continue into spring.

The MDTA encourages drivers to be partners in safety and use caution when traveling the bridge:
· The speed limit for driving in two-way traffic is 40 mph. Obey posted speed limits and overhead lane-control signals.
· Use your vehicle’s headlights in two-way traffic.
· Stay alert — do not change lanes while traveling the bridges.
· Make sure your vehicle is “road ready” — one disabled vehicle can cause extensive backups.
