Winter Computer Classes For Adults

Computer Classes are now forming for the winter 09 sessions at Grasonville Senior Center. Basic Computer Skills for Seniors are offered by Chesapeake Colleges Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Training. There will be six classes offered which include Beginner Computers, Digital Photography, Microsoft Word 1, Excel, Introduction to Computers, and Internet & Ebay. Beginner Computer covers introduction to computers, introduction to the internet and introduction to e-mail. Digital Photography class teaches an overview of digital photography, downloading pictures from camera to computer, Picasa Photo Editing, and Adobe Elements Photoshop. Students in Digital Photography class will need to bring a digital camera with photos and all connecting wires to download their photos. Microsoft Word 1 class will learn the Word Window including all bars, icons, and tools to move around in the Word program. Excel class will offer an introduction to the Excel program and use of spreadsheets. Introduction to Computers will offer the first time computer user an introduction to computer operating systems and other basics. Internet & Ebay class students will learn their way around the internet and Ebay bidding, buying, and selling. All classes begin in January and meet once each week for two hours and run for six weeks. Registration is limited to seniors aged 60 or older and cost just $10.00 for the semester. Once registered, students may take unlimited classes. Class size is limited and advance registration is recommended. Lunch is available with advance reservation.
