If you have ever wanted to learn the basics of watercolors or simply want to revisit what you already know, join popular artist and instructor Kurt Plinke for a one-day workshop. Students will learn how to create a rural winter landscape using watercolors, with an emphasis on technique and composition.
This class is perfect for both beginners and intermediate watercolorists alike. Instructor Kurt Plinke has been artfully recording his views of life and the natural world for more than thirty years. Painting mainly in water-based mediums, he uses muted tones and concentrates on composition while accurately documenting what he sess. He is both a naturalist and a teacher, as well as an artist. He was the cover artist for the Chestertown Wildlife Festival in 2000. Plinke brings his skills to the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council’s Centre for the Arts in Centreville for this workshop on Saturday, January 31 from 9 am to 2 pm. The deadline for registration is January 23, 2009. The class cost is $65 and $55 for Arts Council members.
Center for the Arts classes are designed to renew existing artistic interests, and to develop new skills. Registration materials are available at 206 South Commerce St. in Centreville, MD Tuesday-Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm, or by calling 410-758-2520, online, www.arts4u.info, or request via email at exhibit@arts4u.info.
