Talbot Mentors presents “A Cabaret Spectacular!” on Saturday, August 24, from 6 to 9:30 p.m., at The Milestone in Easton. The fundraiser will support Talbot Mentors’ program of matching volunteers with students who can benefit from the adults’ time and friendship.
The evening features hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and dinner while guests enjoy variety entertainment sponsored by Fred Frederick of Easton, Wilmington Trust, and The Milestone.
Magician Michael Kaminskas will emcee the Cabaret in sleight-of-hand style with his Comedy Stage Presentations and Intimate Illusions. For nearly two decades, his award-winning magic has amazed audiences at venues ranging from small private functions to national television.
The illusions will set the stage for musical magic by the Van Williamson Trio, Shore Strings, and Christine Noyes A Cabaret!
The Van Williamson Trio appears at a wide variety of area clubs and theaters, performing a repertoire of music by “The Great American Songbook” composers Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Miles Davis, and others. The Trio mixes in Brazilian bossa nova and contemporary tunes from stage and screen.
Shore Strings performers Carey Miller, Meredith Buxton, and Nevin Dawson offer serenades in musical styles from classical to light jazz.
Talbot County’s Christine Noyes performs “A Cabaret Spectacular!” with area musician and educator William Thomas. Widely known on the Baltimore/Washington Irish music scene, Noyes keeps an active performing and recording schedule while teaching in the public schools and maintaining a private voice and guitar studio.
Tickets are $100 each, with reserved tables available upon purchase of eight tickets. Reservations are requested by August 17.
