Queen Anne’s County Historical Society Invites Families for Lantern Walk, Ghost Stories, and “Spooky House” Fun

The Queen Anne’s County Historical Society invites residents and visitors alike to step back in time for a night of Halloween fun and fright in the heart of historic Centreville. On Halloween night, enjoy a trio of spirited events for all ages — beginning at the Historic Tucker House, continuing with a Lantern Walk, and ending with Ghost Stories on the Lawn of Wright’s Chance.

The festivities begin from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Tucker House, a beautifully preserved Federal-period home built in the 1790s. Families can tour the historic home decked out for the season and take part in the family-friendly tradition of “Spooky House.”

At 6:30 p.m., lanterns will light the way as participants gather at the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council (206 S. Commerce Street) for a Lantern Walk through downtown Centreville. The evening concludes with Ghost Stories shared on the front lawn of Wright’s Chance, located at 119 S. Commerce Street.

This community celebration blends local history with Halloween imagination, offering a fun and educational evening for children and adults alike.
