Moving Forward invites all breast cancer patients, their families and caregivers to attend an open forum group to discuss the impact of a breast cancer diagnosis. Support is offered through invited speakers as well as compassion and support from other people walking the breast cancer path. The group is facilitated by a licensed counselor and a registered nurse. Meets the third Tuesday of each month at Kent Island. No registration required. Maternity Tour

Where: Hospital Pavilion North Lobby
Description: Participants will tour all 3 floors of the Clatanoff Pavilion. They will learn about Family Centered Maternity Care, our visitor guidelines and birth practices. When available, participants will see one of our birthing suites and a mother-baby room. Although participants are shown the NICU area, they do not actually go in to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care). The participants will visit the Mother-Baby unit and learn about the care they will receive after the baby is born as well as the security measures in place to ensure their safety. . Cesarean Birth Class

Description: Taking the Birthing World by CALM. HypnoBirthing is a 5-week introduction to hypnotic techniques for birth. HypnoBirthing Practitioners are certified by Marie Mongan, the founder of HypnoBirthing. Participants learn: hypnotic rapport for birth companions, specific techniques of hypnotic anesthesia, the stages of labor and specific relaxation skills for each stage. Participants will receive extensive study materials specific to HypnoBirthing and should be committed to practicing the techniques between sessions.
