AARP Tax-Aide Volunteers Offer Free Tax Help

It’s tax time again, and AARP Tax-Aide volunteers are ready to help you with your federal and state taxes at twelve locations throughout the Mid-Shore from February 1 through April 15.  All services are absolutely free, including e-filing your return for a faster refund.  AARP Tax-Aide volunteers receive extensive training.  They are familiar with the latest changes in the tax code and will be able to answer your questions and accurately prepare your return.

When you visit an AARP Tax-Aide site, be sure to bring along photo identification, social security cards for yourself and all dependents, copies of your 2008 income tax returns, and all 2009 tax-related documents including: W-2’s from all employers; unemployment compensation statements; all 1099’s including 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099R, 1099-MISC, and SSA-1099; child care provider information including name, employer ID or social security number, and amount paid; real estate taxes paid; details for itemized deductions; and records showing federal and state income taxes paid.

AARP Tax-Aide is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run program offered by the AARP Foundation in conjunction with the IRS to provide free tax preparation assistance to low- and middle-income taxpayers, with special attention to those age 60 and older. Contact one of the AARP Tax-Aide locations listed below to make an appointment for an AARP Tax-Aide volunteer to help you with your taxes.
