All youth ages 10-14 who are interested in health/medical careers are encouraged to participate in an exciting career exploration program. Adventures in Health Science will take place at Memorial Hospital in Easton June 29, June 30, and July 1 and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. During the second year of this successful program, youth will learn about medical and health science careers by touring hospital units, talking to health professionals, and participating in fun, interactive activities. This year’s program will feature careers related to muscles and bones. Health care is a top employer in our local area, and this program is a great way to learn about career fields that are available to you right here on the Shore!
The program is a combination of efforts of the University of Maryland Extension- (Caroline and Talbot 4-H), Shore Health System, and the Eastern Shore Area Health Education Center. Learning goals include helping youth better understand human biology/health science and familiarizing youth with potential health careers. A registration fee of $30 includes the cost of each day’s lunch. Please call Talbot County 4-H at (410) 822-1244 or Caroline County 4-H at (410) 479-4030 for more information and to sign up by June 1. Space is limited. It is the policy of University of Maryland Extension that all persons have equal opportunity and access to programs and facilities without regard to race, color, gender, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital or parental status, or disability.” If you need assistance to participate in this program, please contact the 4-H office.
