CENTREVILLE — The talent and dedication of Queen Anne’s County Public Schools (QACPS) middle school band students have shone brightly once again, as they secured coveted spots in the prestigious Eastern Shore Band Directors Association (ESBDA) Junior All-Shore Band.
Students from each of the four QACPS middle school band programs recently showcased their musical prowess in rigorous auditions, competing against peers from across the Eastern Shore of Maryland for limited positions in this esteemed ensemble.
Fifteen superior musicians from Centreville Middle School, directed by Heather Fullerton, with three first chairs earning positions in the ensemble included:

● 1st Alto Saxophone: Bella Schieke
● 3rd Alto Saxophone: Bella Rowlands
● 1st Tenor Saxophone: Faylinn Fisher
● 3rd Tenor Saxophone: Sophie King
● 6th Trumpet: William Baugh
● 8th Trumpet: Finn Mills
● 9th Trumpet: Sara Klakring
● 2nd Trombone: JD Hickey
● 3rd Trombone: Quinn Curley
● 4th Baritone: Chaz Baggs
● 1st Tuba: Kate Grimplin
● 4th Snare: Rhett Fleetwood
● Timpani: Sean Sterling

Matapeake Middle School, directed by Christopher Flaherty, is proud to announce that one student earned a position in the ensemble:
● 7th Alto Saxophone: Jae Behr
Four excellent musicians from Stevensville Middle School, directed by Andrew MacIntire, secured positions in the ensemble:
● Piccolo: Allison Flaherty
● 7th Clarinet: Lily Darr
● 4th Alto Saxophone: Teagan Leigh
● 2nd French Horn: Thomas Poole
Sudlersville Middle School, directed by Ron Demby, is proud to announce that one student earned a position in the ensemble:
● 1st Trombone: Seeley Garrett
In total, over twenty students from QACPS have been recognized for their exceptional musical abilities, showcasing the district’s commitment to excellence in music education. The concert, featuring these talented musicians, will take place on Saturday, April 13th, at Easton High School.
Michael Bell, QACPS Supervisor of Fine Arts extended his congratulations to all the students who participated in the auditions, as well as the dedicated band directors whose guidance and support have helped these young musicians achieve such remarkable success.
