An update from Haven Ministries

On behalf of everyone at Haven Ministries, our hearts go out to all those impacted by COVID-19—including those self-quarantined, those who may be diagnosed with the virus, our friends and family, those whose jobs, businesses and schools have been impacted and so many more.

Haven Ministries provides many services to the community and in this time of crisis we would like to assure you that our essential services remain operational.
In response to the impact on our families; scaled back hourly wages, businesses shutting down and the schools closing the following services are operating or have been expanded:
Our resource Centers remain Open daily from 8am – 4:30pm
The Monthly Food Pantry has been Expanded distributing Emergency Food on a Daily Basis. We will receive food donations from 10am – 2pm on Friday, March 27th at Hope Warehouse 6527 Friels Road, Queenstown, MD
Plans are being considered for The Homeless Shelter currently operating from October – April to continue into the summer months
As the situation continues to change rapidly we too have been challenged.  We are navigating uncommon challenges and have cancelled some of our normal services and large scale events to preserve the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, guests and community.  We have halted our major Spring Fundraisers and are re-evaluating our major Fall Fundraisers. And, we have temporarily closed our main sources of revenue, Our Daily Thread Thrift Store and Hope Warehouse to help slow the spread of the virus.

As a result of this extraordinary situation, we have lost revenue and incurred expenses above and beyond our budget. We are receiving an overwhelming amount of requests for assistance and in response have set-up an emergency fundraiser on our Facebook Page “Haven Ministries Responding with HOPE to COVID-19”. We need your support and ask you to help spread our HOPE by Donating & Sharing our fundraiser to help meet our goal of $100,000 to provide immediate assistance to those hardest hit by this crisis. We will continue to post updates through our social media, emails, and our website as information becomes available.

With much gratitude,
Krista Pettit
