Anime V. Chibi: Character Costuming

Use with coloring class AnimeCinderellaWatermarked (292 x 500)Instructor Hanna Kingsley returns to the Arts Council to offer a new course that takes Anime or Chibi to the next level learning great techniques for character costuming. “Anime” is defined as the Japanese style often characterized by bright, colorful and whimsical elements. “Chibi” translates to “Tiny is Cute” and refers to the cute and childish style of anime that focuses on exaggerating the eyes, hands, face and animal characteristics.

Drawing students will learn proportion changes and animal characteristics including making wings and ears. These drawing elements will help to define their character’s personality traits and identity making them recognizable as a villain or hero, prince or princess, human or animal.

“Anime V. Chibi: Character Costuming” is Saturday, April 6 from 10 am to 2 pm. The class is open to ages 10 to 18. Cost is $50 for members and $65 for non-members and there is a $5 additional fee for materials payable to the instructor on the first day of class. The deadline for registration is March 29.
