Art of the Deals

image003The Queen Anne’s County Arts Council is organizing its seventh annual Centreville neighborhood extravaganza “The Art of the Deals” on Saturday, June 15 from 9 am to 1 pm. This fun community-wide event features information tables and arts vendors on the grounds of the original Courthouse Square.

Artists Cassandra Bridenstine, Ric Conn, Nancy Hagman, Robert Schaffer, Donna Windsor and more will be selling original artwork, textiles, jewelry and other hand-crafted work. Information booths in the Courthouse Square include the War of 1812 Committee, Queen Anne’s County Amateur Radio Club, Corsica River Conservancy and the Animal Resource Foundation which will have adorable animals looking for a new home. For children of all ages, there will be a Make and Take craft table and book sale at the Queen Anne’s County Free Library. To add to the excitement of this community affair, the Queen Anne’s County Historic Society will feature a Tour of Wright’s Chance, Tucker House and Gardens with a special exhibit from 12 to 2 pm.

The Farmers’ Market is open and downtown merchants have specials and sales for a day full of bargains. If customers are thirsty for a new home or just need to cool off, Ashley Premiere Property and Insurance will be offering free refreshments. The event also includes discounts and sales at Salon Heberto, Commerce Street Creamery, Edwards Pharmacy and Western Auto.

Summer office hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9 am to 2 pm and Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm from June through August.
