Artists’ Cruise Offered by Phillips Wharf Environmental Center

Artists are invited to bring their easels and palettes aboard when Phillips Wharf Environmental Center sponsors a sunset “Oil and Water Cruise” on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 4 to 8 p.m.

“Everyone is familiar with the plein air painters on roadsides and village sidewalks,” said Kelley Cox, founder and director of Phillips Wharf Environmental Center, “but few artists get to paint a live view from out on the water.”

The cruise, limited to 10 artists, will be aboard the Express Royale, a large and comfortable boat with a flat, covered deck with room for artists to work, whether in watercolors, oil or acrylic.

The cost is $45 for PWEC members and $55 for nonmembers and will include a light dinner. Full payment is required to reserve a place, and that must be done by Sept. 22. For more information or to pay online, go to www.pwec.org and click on excursions. Information is also available at 410-886-9200.
