Award Winning Molasses Creek Will Perform at Avalon Theatre

Molasses Creek will perform Friday, October 12th at The Avalon Theatre’s Stoltz Listening Room at 8 pm. This lively folk group is on the road for a fall tour and will be in the Easton area for a brief visit!

Molasses Creek is a talented band of musicians whose high-energy performances and quirky sense of humor make for an entertaining and family-friendly night out. Their music is a mix of contemporary folk with a hearty helping of Americana.

Molasses Creek’s music brings the listener back to a simpler time of picking tunes, sharing songs, stories and laughter on the porch with friends. With strong vocals, elegant harmonies (and some truly wicked fiddling), its no wonder this band took a top award on Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion.”

Molasses Creek draws its inspiration from the band’s home on remote Ocracoke Island. Twenty three miles off the North Carolina Coast, Ocracoke is an enchanting step out of modern times into a land of captivating natural beauty, rich maritime history, ghostly shipwrecks, and heroic lifesavers. The band’s songwriting reflects their love of island life and its simple yet sophisticated ways.

Molasses Creek’s latest album, “An Island Out of Time,” hit #4 this spring on the FOLKDJ radio charts! Their 11 other recordings have received airplay around the world along with a nomination for European Country Music Association band of year.

“An Island Out of Time” is available on iTunes, at www.molassescreek.com, or you can pick up a copy at the show. Longtime favorites at their hometown Ocrafolk Festival, the band was also featured at LEAF and Floydfest music festivals this summer.
