Bay Program Hurt by Budget Cuts

A Chesapeake Bay program for Maryland sixth-graders has become a casualty of state budget cuts. As recently as two years ago, the North Bay Adventure program received $1.7-million from the state to teach character-building and environmental appreciation. With a current budget of $600,000, students will have to contribute about $200 apiece. The program is located on 89 acres in Cecil County near the mouth of the Susquehanna River.
