Blizzard Postpones Concert

Blizzard, monsoon, hurricane and squall are all names given to types of winds.  Blizzards are strong winds loaded with ice and snow.  Because of the recent blizzards Four Winds Performing Arts Center postponed its 2010 inaugural concert with the Morgan State University Choir.  The concert has been rescheduled for May 8, 2010.

The remainder of the winter concert series remains in place.  Two performances are scheduled for March 13, 2010.  Nationally-known children’s group, Milkshake with Lisa and Mikel, will bring its rocking sound for kids to Four Winds Performing Arts Center at 9:30 a.m.

Milkshake, featuring singer Lisa Mathews and guitarist Mikel Gehl, was nominated for the Best Children’s Album of 2009 Grammy Award.  The group’s authentic rock and roll spirit has won over youngsters for years.

Later that day, just in time to kick off the St. Patrick’s Day week, will be a St. Patrick’s Day Extravaganza with Maggie Sansone and Other Great Irish Musicians on March 13 at 7 p.m.  Sansone performed a Celtic Christmas concert at Four Winds back in December that had the audience singing along and asking for more!  This concert promises more of her signature sound, featuring a program of Irish music, as she comes back with acclaimed Celtic harpist Sue Richards, Andrea Hoag on fiddle, Paul Oorts on Guitar; as well as bagpipes and an Irish dancer to round out what will be a foot-stomping good time!

Tickets for all concerts are available at www.fourwindspac.org.  For more information, call 888-770-4120.
