The Maryland State Fire Marshal ruled the preliminary cause of the December 1 fire that destroyed a home on Bozman Neavitt Road as arson. Firefighters from St. Michaels, Tilghman, Oxford and Easton responded to the one-story home owned by Edwin Crouch. No one was injured. The fire caused an estimated $250,000 in structural damage and an estimated $200,000 in lost contents, according to the fire marshal’s office. It took 40 firefighters about an hour to control the blaze. The fire, discovered by Department of Natural Resources Police, started at the rear of the house.
