Maryland State Police are investigating a burglary of a Delmarva Power substation located on US Rt. 50 in Wye Mills. Shortly after 5:30 a.m. last Tuesday morning, troopers from the Centreville barrack responded to 7025 Ocean Gateway for a reported burglary. Preliminary investigation revealed that unknown suspects cut the chain link fence to gain access to the property. Once inside, the suspects removed copper and tools valued at over $10,000. It is believed that the suspects took the stolen property to a waiting vehicle that was parked either on the side of Rt. 50 or a nearby adjacent farm lane. The substation is located off the westbound side of US Rt. 50 between MD Rt. 404 and MD Rt. 213. State Police are asking anyone who was driving in this area between 9:00 p.m. on May 24 and 5:30 a.m. on May 25 and saw anything suspicious to contact the Centreville barrack, Criminal Investigation Section at 410-758-1101.
