In a culture where it is important to look good and feel good, tanning salons help to achieve this goal through the various services they offer. Some focus only on tanning. Others, like By The Beach Tanning Salon, owned & operated by Lisa Quinn, offer much more and seek to change the way people view tanning.

Married and a mother of six, Lisa’s background was in accounting, but she had an interest in tanning as well as spas and hair dressing. She acquired the business and its three locations in the spring of 2011, and she currently employs 11 part-time and full-time people. Lisa recently added Jan Siarnicki to her team, a certified massage therapist and licensed aesthetician with 15 years experience. She brings a wealth of experience and new techniques to the salon.

Jan focuses on anti-aging techniques that can be enhanced through proper nutrition and vitamin intake. She offers a variety of facial peels and treatments, microabrasion and facials to improve acne and overall skin pigmentation. She also is trained in various types of massages, including Swedish, aroma therapy, hot stone, pregnancy and myofacial. To add to her resumè, Jan is certified in cosmetic techniques to apply makeup on grafted skin and to hide facial prosthetics to help restore self-confidence.

By the Beach Tanning offers the finest in tanning beds in both the vertical and horizontal positions. Air brush sunless tanning is another very popular service. All staff members are smart-tan certified and keep informed on the latest in skin care. They are ready to answer customer’s questions, ranging from the safety of tanning to what is the best type of massage based on their needs.

Lisa is proud that her salon provides great one-on-one customer service. “We have a small town feel here,” Lisa says. “Our clients come here not to just tan, but to interact with someone they know.” Lisa offers her customers an atmosphere of relaxation and the utmost in sterility and cleanliness.

Lisa offers many diverse services at By the Beach Tanning. She adds, “We have dropped our prices substantially, and now is a good time to take advantage of what we offer, which includes tanning, massages, facials and waxing.” By the Beach Tanning now takes appointments for tanning and aesthetic services. Lisa is looking forward to seeing more winter tanners at each of her three locations in Stevensville, Centreville and Denton.
