Do you want to make a difference in your community this summer? The Chesapeake Volunteer Center can help you find the best volunteer opportunity to meet your needs, interests, schedule, location, and any other preferences you may have. The Volunteer Center is a “matchmaker” between potential volunteers and organizations. By using the database, groups, families, and individuals have access to organizations looking for volunteers within Talbot, Caroline, Kent, Dorchester, and Queen Anne’s counties – all in one convenient location. Whether you have a few hours on a Saturday or every Wednesday afternoon, you can find an opportunity to get involved within your community.
“We are seeing a number of community members, college students in particular, who are unable to find jobs for the summer,” said Marci Leach, Director of the Chesapeake Volunteer Center. “By volunteering with local organizations, they are building their resume, developing marketable job skills, and giving back to the community. It is a win-win situation!”
Register as a volunteer by visiting the Chesapeake Volunteer Center website at http://www.chesapeake.edu/volunteer/.
Organizations seeking volunteers can also register on the site and list volunteer opportunities.
