Contest Deadline Extended
The Corsica River Mental Health Services, a non-profit mental health clinic in Centreville, MD is holding a logo design contest.  All interested artists are invited to design and submit an original logo.  Creativity is encouraged and welcomed for this innovative new mental health clinic.  There is a $200 cash prize for the winning entry. Specifications: digital files as eps or tip file. (jpg will be accepted but not preferred). Resolution 300 dpi, physical size a minimum of 5″ one dimension, no font restriction, submit color design that will also work successfully as B/W. Include your name, postal address, phone number, and email address, if available.  Note:  the winning logo will become the sole property of Corsica River Mental Health Services who reserves the right to make alterations to the winning contribution.

Art Opportunity – FREDERICK COUNTY – Statewide Call for  Artists
PUBLIC ART PROJECT NOTICE – Downtown Frederick’s Arts and Entertainment District has a new Heritage Trail Markers project. An artist or artists is/are sought to design, fabricate and install the project, with a total available budget of $40,000 for the 1st phase which will focus on Carroll Creek Park as well as the new Visitors Center site. The initial phase of the project will begin with the selection of an artist and must conclude no later than 12/31/2010.
The heritage trail marker project has the potential to grow and expand throughout Downtown Frederick. The markers are intended to be placed in concrete, asphalt or brick sidewalks and must be flush with the surface. Once selected, the artist will begin work on designing visual elements that correspond to the quotations developed by local historians.  The markers are meant to emphasize notable elements of everyday life throughout Frederick’s history.  The artist will have some opportunity to influence where markers are placed, but some locations will be pre-determined.  If you are interested in the full RFP (Request for Proposals) on this project, please email sbutcher@frederickartscouncil.org.  Responses are due to DFP by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010.
