The CarFit program does not involve any behind-the-wheel driving instruction.
CarFit is a program designed to give a quick yet comprehensive check of how well you and your vehicle work together. Trained technicians ask you simple questions, complete a 12-point CarFit checklist, and recommend adjustments that could improve the “fit” between you and your vehicle. Occupational therapists are on hand to provide information on how to maintain and strengthen your driving health.
CarFit provides valuable information to ALL seniors, including those that may have difficulty:
• Reaching the shoulder harness and buckling/unbuckling seat belts
• Getting in and out of the vehicle easily
• Turning their head to look over a shoulder while changing lanes
• Sitting comfortably without knee, back, hip, neck, or shoulder pain
