Carpe Diem Arts proudly presents another concert as part of the popular Arts Alive! lunchtime concert series presented at Brookletts Place in Easton (400 Brookletts Ave.) in partnership with the Talbot County Senior Center and with funding support from Talbot Arts, the Maryland State Arts Council, Dock Street Foundation, and Upper Shore Aging ℅ Mid-Shore Community Foundation. The lunchtime concerts are free and open to the public, and are welcoming of all ages. Performances are scheduled on the Second Tuesdays of the month– through May.
Featured on February 10th, 12:15-1:00pm will be Hubby Jenkins. Hubby Jenkins is a Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist and captivating performer who brings early American roots music vividly to life. A former member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Jenkins shares the rich traditions of African American string band music through lively, engaging performances on banjo, guitar, and bones. Blending history with warmth and storytelling, he invites audiences to experience the music’s deep roots while enjoying a performance that feels fresh, accessible, and full of energy. Beyond the stage, Jenkins is also a gifted educator and cultural ambassador. Through concerts, talks, and workshops, he shines a light on the often-overlooked African American origins of folk, blues, andold-time music, helping audiences better understand—and enjoy—the music they love. His welcoming presence, expressive musicianship, and easy connection with listeners make his performances appealing to longtime music fans and newcomers alike.
