CBEC’s Sixth Annual Birdies for the Bay a Big Success

The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center’s sixth annual Birdies for the Bay golf tournament, held on July 19, was a resounding success.  Players teed up on Queenstown Harbor’s Audubon-certified course to help raise funds for the environmental nonprofit.

This year’s CBEC tournament included 15 sponsors and 94 players, raising over $12,000.  Following this success, next year’s Birdies for the Bay event is already scheduled for July 18, 2011 at the Queenstown Harbor Golf Course.

CBEC Restoration Manager Vicki Paulas, who produces the annual golf event, said, “This year’s tournament had a good mix of people from both the Eastern and Western shores of Maryland. We look forward to many of our golfers following up with a CBEC membership now that they have been introduced to the restoration and environmental education work we do at CBEC.”

This year’s sponsors included lead sponsor Reedy Electrical Services, Inc., along with: Bohler Engineering; Judy Wink; Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz; Pam Beidle-Nationwide Insurance; Sherry Black; Insurance Solutions; Neuberger, Quinn, Gielen, Rubin & Gibber, P.A.; Bonus Marketing, Inc.; Chesapeake Real Estate Associates, LLC; Unimark, LLC; Olde Cape Cod; The Narrows Restaurant; Marshy Creek Liquors; and Bob & Carol Kendrick.

CBEC is grateful to all those who participated in this year’s tournament, including sponsors, players, and volunteers.
