Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center will provide six weeks of summer camp activities for children in the age groups of Kindergarten through 5th grade.
The camps will run Monday through Friday from 9:00 am till 3:00 pm. The following camp activities include: Week 1: June 20-24, “Life Around the Bay”; Week 2: June 27-July 01, “Bay Through The Ages”; Week 3: July 18-22, “Survival Camp”; and Week 4: July 25-29, “Wonders of Water.” Each of these camps are based on a theme, and programs and activities vary during each week, so children may sign up for more than one week,
There is also a “Young Naturalist” camp that is based on art in nature. This camp will run for two weeks from August 01-08, 9:00 am-3:00 pm daily. This camp is open to 8-12 year olds. The “Young Naturalist” camp aims to foster creativity, observation, and respect for nature by introducing a wide array of artistic and natural science activities.
Children will have the opportunity to work and play in small groups of 8-10 children with one teacher and one assistant per group. Katey Nelson, the Education Manager at CBEC, will be the camp director, and brings with her years of camp experiences.
