CBMM Continues Christmas Tradition

In photo below: Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) shipwrights and apprentices took part in the annual Chesapeake tradition of hoisting a lit Christmas tree up a boat’s mast with this tree on the 1909 crab dredger Old Point, part of CBMM’s historic fleet of Chesapeake boats. Pictured from left: Shipwright Apprentice Joe Larochelle, Assistant Curator of Watercraft Richard Scofield, Shipwright Apprentice Shane Elliott, and Special Project Manager Marc Barto. Old Point can be seen along the St. Michaels harbor, with the tree remaining lit throughout the holidays.
