Global Junkjam™ 2013 comes to St. Michaels, MD from 1-2pm on Saturday, April 27 along the waterfront campus of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM). This rain-or-shine percussion jam is free and open to the public, with participation encouraged at CBMM or via the Internet.
Led by The Junkman™ Donald Knaack, participants will be provided sticks and other repurposed materials for instruments, or they can bring their own “junk.” No musical training is necessary, as The Junkman™ will lead simple rhythms accompanied by singing about the small changes we can make for a better Earth.
The live event will feature The Junkman™ performing with a group of Tilghman Elementary School students. All students, as well as community organization members, are welcome to attend the jam en-masse. To reserve your organization for a spot at CBMM or a Google + stream, email your name, organization (if any), the number of people attending, and whether or not you will bring your own junk and sticks to jeremy@junkmusic.org at or before midnight, April 25th.
Those who can’t attend the live event can join The Junkman™ at http://www.junkmusic.org/news/?p=185 as he streams his Google + hangout live from CBMM. To watch the live broadcast, tune into this Google + event on April 27, 2013.
