CBMM earns TripAdvisor 2018 Certificates of Excellence
The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum recently received two TripAdvisor 2018 Certificate of Excellence awards. These awards celebrate excellence in hospitality and are only given to establishments consistently achieving great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. In addition to winning for CBMM as a whole, the 1879 Hooper Strait Lighthouse was also recognized this year.
“As an independent review site, TripAdvisor offers the wisdom of crowds to help people decide where to visit and what to do,” said CBMM President Kristen Greenaway. “CBMM’s staff and volunteers are extremely proud to have achieved this recognition for seven consecutive years, and we look forward to continuing to earn this level of feedback in the coming years.”
When selecting Certificate of Excellence recipients, TripAdvisor accounts for the quality, quantity, and recency of TripAdvisor reviews submitted by travelers over a 12-month period. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, achieve a minimum number of reviews, and have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
“TripAdvisor is excited to announce the recipients of the 2018 Certificate of Excellence, which celebrates experiences and other travel businesses that have consistently received strong praise and ratings on the world’s largest travel site,” said TripAdvisor Vice President of Industry Marketing Heather Leisman. “This recognition allows us to publicly honor businesses that are actively engaging with customers and using feedback to help travelers identify and confidently book the perfect trip.”
TripAdvisor provides travelers with insights and advice on where to stay, how to fly, what to do, and where to eat. The site has more than 600 million reviews and opinions covering more than 7.5 million attractions, airlines, accommodations, and restaurants.
