July Programs:

LEARN TO IRISH DANCE
Do you love Irish music?  Have you seen Riverdance or Lord of the Dance and wanted to try Irish dance yourself?  Come learn the basics of Irish step dancing such as the “1-2-3”, the “7” and the Ceili swing.  Students of all ages and dance backgrounds are welcome!  No prior dance experience is necessary.  No special materials or equipment needed.  Course fee is $55.  Classes held at the Wye Mills campus, Thursday, 7/1 – 7/22/10, 6 – 8 pm.   For more information or to register, contact Marci Leach at 410-827-5833 or mleach@chesapeake.edu.

CONVERSATIONAL ITALIAN
Learn one of the most popular romance languages!  This course explores the basic language skills to enhance the Italian travel experience. Instruction will focus on learning the words and phrases most commonly used to comfortably function abroad for either business or leisure. August Programs:

VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT BEST PRACTICES
Volunteers are the backbone of many organizations but how do you find and keep them?  This program provides nonprofit staff with an essential overview of the best practices for engaging community volunteers.  Learn the necessary framework for recruiting and retaining volunteers, the benefits of creating a viable program, and the variety of resources available to aid with volunteer management.  Course is taught by the Director of Volunteer Maryland. KNITTING FOR BEGINNERS
Have you always wanted to knit but don’t know where to start?  Learn the fundamentals of knitting including: purl, cast on, bind off, increase and decrease, read a pattern, and correcting simple mistakes.  This course is for students new to knitting or for those who need to refresh their basic skills.  Course fee is $39 and tuition is $15.  Classes held at the Easton High School, Monday, 8/23 – 10/4/10, 6-8 pm.   For more information or to register, contact Marci Leach at 410-827-5833 or mleach@chesapeake.edu.

INTERMEDIATE INCOME TAX PREPARATION
This 6-week course is for individuals who have completed a basic tax course and have at least one year of income tax preparation.  Topics will include an in-depth review of Schedules A, B, C, D and E.  In addition to study of these Schedules, tax law changes, new forms, and the new Schedule L will be discussed.  The requirement of having taken a basic tax course is mandatory in order to keep all students on the same level of instruction.  Course fee is $60.  Course materials $25 paid to the instructor the first night of class.  Classes held at the Easton High School, Monday and Thursdays, 8/23 – 9/13/10, 6-9 pm.   For more information or to register, contact Marci Leach at 410-827-5833 or mleach@chesapeake.edu.
