Chester River Fatal Accident Kills Chestertown Waterman

The body of a Chestertown waterman who was reported missing in the Chester River was discovered last week near his abandoned boat. The search started for Stephen Cohey after the 56-year-old failed to return to Kennersly Point Marina in Church Hill. Cohey’s unoccupied boats were found near his pound nets shortly after the search began. His brother-in-law found Cohey’s body about a quarter-mile south of the nets. An autopsy has been ordered on the body. Maryland Natural Resources Police are investigating the cause of the fatal accident.
