The term “tea party” has taken on an entirely new meaning in the past year, but the annual Chestertown Tea Party Festival is the same family-friendly celebration of the town’s heritage that it’s always been. “Red, White & Brewed” is the theme of this year’s festival from May 28–31 and includes all of the events festivalgoers have come to love: the tea party reenactment on Saturday afternoon, Sunday’s raft race on the Chester River, and, throughout the weekend, performances and exhibitions at various locations in the historic district as well as public sails on the schooner Sultana.

Wine Tasting at the Tea Party (new for 2010). Sunday, May 30 from noon-4pm at Wilmer Park, Chestertown The wine tasting will feature 10 local Maryland wineries. The tasting will cost $10 and includes a commemorative wine glass.
