Chestertown’s Airy Hill Stables Open House To Offer Free Rides and More

Petting zoo,  pony rides, face painting, food, raffles, crafts for the kids, and  hayrides are just a few of the things families of all ages will be able to enjoy at Airy Hill Stables 2nd Annual Fall Fest Open House on October 15th, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.  Admission is free to the public!

Airy Hill Stables, located at 7886 Airy Hill Road in Chestertown, sits on 20 acres with miles of trails and fields surrounding it.  Any horse and rider is welcomed, regardless of tack. Their goal is to work with riders by offering the services that will help them achieve their riding goals.

“We want to give individuals of all ages the opportunity to get involved with horses”, said Avra Sullivan, equestrian instructor at Airy Hills Stables.  “Children as little as four years old can begin taking lessons and start learning what taking care of a horse is all about.  The open house will give an opportunity for the general public to experience horses one-on-one.”

Mrs. Sullivan is the main equestrian instructor at Airy Hill.  She is a Member of the Riding Instructors Association. She teaches horseback riding for student’s pleasure or for competition. She started riding at age 7.

“Horses have always been a part of my life and I cannot see myself without them”, continued Mrs. Sullivan.“ Teaching has given me an opportunity to pass this passion on to children as well as young at heart.  It gives me great pleasure to see students grow, as they bond with the horses and make them part of their lives as well.”

In addition to the free petting zoo, pony rides and all the fun activities mentioned, the event will also have horses for sale and lease as well as a riding demonstrations by actual Airy Hill students.
