Chloe’s Corner: Interviews, Reviews, and the Point of View from a Local Teen

Denim.

Denim, denim, denim.

Did I say denim? Five times now, actually, if you’ve been counting.

My assignment for the final month of a long, hot summer is a fashion trend for back to school. If you’ve feared what to wear during the oncoming school year, have no fear. I am here holding 6 magazines and 2 clothing catalogs to help you with a new trend, which if you couldn’t already tell, is denim.

So, why denim? Easy. Denim has been an American staple since it was invented in America, in 1873. Even now, in 2013, denim is a pretty big deal. (I mean, I’m pretty sure you own a pair of denim jeans, right? Exactly.)

So you, reader, are probably thinking, “I have a pair of jeans. What other denim items are in for this lovely season?”

Okay, maybe you’re not saying it like that.

For denim beginners, a pair of colored jeans would get you right on trend. For advanced denimers (I know it’s not a word, ok.), you might want to invest in the purchase of a denim and or/ chambray shirt, or a embellished denim jacket. If you really want to be trendy, try denim jackets in acid wash, or DIY stud the collar of the jacket.

Worried about the cost of your new denim item? Once again, have no fear. Try shopping your parent’s closets for timeless denim items, or even going to a thrift store for vintage finds.

To end this denim filled article, I give you the amount of times I have said the word denim.
