Choptank Community Health Mobile Medical Services Coming to Foxxtown Apartments in Sudlersville

The Queen Anne’s County Housing Authority is partnering with Choptank Community Health to expand access to primary and preventative health care in the Sudlersville community through regular visits from Choptank’s mobile medical unit.

Beginning this fall, the mobile medical unit will visit Foxxtown Apartments in Sudlersville twice each month, providing convenient access to health care services for residents of Foxxtown Apartments and the surrounding community.

The partnership is part of the Housing Authority’s ongoing effort to expand services available to residents, particularly seniors, and help individuals remain safely and comfortably in their homes for as long as possible. The Housing Authority is working on a multiphase approach that includes increasing access to in-home care and support, strengthening community-based services and improving access to primary and preventative health care.

The mobile medical unit provides a variety of services, including urgent and sick care, testing for strep, COVID and RSV, non-urgent follow-up visits, management and follow-up for high blood pressure, diabetes and other chronic conditions, as well as physical exams and preventative care.

To introduce the new service to the community, Choptank Community Health and the Housing Authority will host a Welcome and Information Event on Tuesday, September 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Foxxtown Apartments, 601 Foxxtown Drive in Sudlersville.

Although the mobile medical unit will be located at Foxxtown Apartments, services are not limited to Foxxtown residents. Members of the surrounding community are welcome to utilize the mobile unit.

Walk-up and scheduled appointments are available, including same-day appointments. Choptank Community Health accepts Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance and offers a patient financial assistance program, including a sliding fee for individuals who do not have insurance and/or meet eligibility requirements.

The new partnership represents an early step in the Housing Authority’s broader effort to connect residents with services that support health, independence and quality of life.
