The Queen Anne’s Emergency Center Event Committee is gearing up for its next fundraiser, “Claws for a Cause,” a crab feast to benefit the Emergency Center’s disaster preparedness needs. The event will be held on Thursday, July 11 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Fisherman’s Crab Deck in Grasonville. Tickets, which are $90 in advance or $100 at the door, will include a traditional crab feast and a buffet of fried chicken, pulled pork barbeque and an assortment of side dishes. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a 50/50 raffle and basket raffles.
“The Queen Anne’s Emergency Center,” commented Mary Alice Vanhoy, MSN, RN, CEN, CPEN, NREMT-P, Nurse Manager for the Queen Anne’s Emergency Center, “wants to be fully prepared in the event that our community experiences any type of disaster or weather event like that of the recent Hurricanes Irene and Sandy. Supporters of the ‘Claws for a Cause’ event, which will benefit our all-hazards disaster preparedness efforts, will help to ensure that our staff can continue to provide our patients with the highest quality of care in the face of any unexpected event that may occur.”
