Clergy Discuss Caring for the Elderly

The Shore Health System lunch and learn series for area clergy and lay ministers continued at The Memorial Hospital at Easton on March 17 with a discussion of the role of ministry and spirituality in the care of the elderly. Presenter Jeannie Brower, RN, a clinical nurse specialist for Shore Health System, shared her extensive knowledge in the field of gerontology to demonstrate the special needs of older people. She also reviewed the local medical and social resources available for the elderly.

These lunch and learn sessions are offered as part of the Shore Health System Chaplain Associates Program. They are free and open to clergy from Talbot, Dorchester, Caroline and Queen Anne’s counties.

Shore Health System also offers Clinical Pastoral Education, an advanced clinical and pastoral training program that prepares individuals for ministry with the sick and their families.
