ANNAPOLIS, MD – Explore all that Maryland Hall has to offer at their ArtFest Open House & 40th Birthday Party on Sunday, March 22 from 1-4 pm! The United States Naval Academy Band will perform a concert at 4 pm capping off the day with a community concert.
Maryland Hall’s ArtFest Open House is a day of creativity filling the historic building with art demonstrations, music recitals, dance performances, exhibitions, hands-on activities and children’s crafts. Highlights this year include an opportunity to meet Paul Reed Smith, world renowned guitarmaker and musician, in attendance to talk with guests about his 2nd Annual Interactive Music Camp for Aspiring Musicians planned for this August at Maryland Hall. Plus, in celebration of Maryland Hall’s 40th birthday, birthday treats, face painting and balloon animal art will be offered!
This FREE Open House showcases the arts at Maryland Hall like no other single day, attracting over 1,000 people of all ages. ArtFest is part of Four Rivers Heritage Area’s Maryland Day Celebration activities and also includes free tastings from the Café at Maryland Hall. Come spend your Sunday afternoon with Maryland Hall and find out what your region’s cultural core is all about!

After the Open House activities, the Naval Academy Band will perform at 4pm. Lieutenant Commander Patrick K. Sweeten will lead the band in a varied and exciting program of music for chamber winds and concert band. Highlights include works by Aaron Copland, Paul Hindemith, and John Phillip Sousa. Musician First Class Dan Coffman will perform Concerto for Trombone and Military Band by Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov as featured soloist.
All ArtFest activities, including the Concert are first come, first served. Free and open to the public, tickets are not required. Registration is requested at marylandhall.org.
