Cooling Center Open

Due to the excessive heat forecast, Queen Anne’s County’s three senior centers and the Department of Community Services building at the Kramer Center will be open to the public as cooling centers from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will have ice machines and water readily available. Please contact the Department of Emergency Services, 410-758-4500, if you are aware of any vulnerable adults who do not have access to a cool environment or transportation to get to one. In Kent County, there are cooling centers at the Chestertown Library and Galena Library. Both are open until 6pm. You’re encouraged to call the Department Of Health at 410-778-1350 if you know of someone in heat-related distress.
