The Gunston School will host the Corsica River Conservancy’s Spring Meeting on Thursday, April 26, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the school’s library. This year’s meeting will feature useful information on planning and building a Living Shoreline on the Chesapeake Bay. The evening will include presentations from three organizations regarding their experiences with local Living Shoreline projects. Speakers will include the following: Eva Kirchner of the Town of Centreville, Matt Miller of Windy Hill Farm and Amy Gross-Kehoe of The Gunston School. Each speaker will describe the process of planning and building a living shoreline along the Corsica, including problems encountered, actions taken, results achieved and future plans. There will be an opportunity for open discussion; questions are welcome. Neighbors and community members are encouraged to attend, including Gunston parents and students. The meeting is open to the public. The Gunston School is located at 911 Gunston Road in Centreville.
