County Commissioners Seeking Member for Board of License Commissioners (Liquor Board)

The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners are looking to fill a vacancy on the Board of License Commissioners (Liquor Board). The deadline for applications April 18, 2023. This vacancy is for a registered democrat that resides in Queen Anne’s County.

The Liquor Control Board held its first meeting in Queen Anne’s County on June 1, 1953, and is regulated by the Alcoholic Beverages Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland. The Board is responsible for reviewing alcoholic beverage license applications, issuing licenses, license renewals, enforcement of laws, and printing, publishing and updating alcoholic beverage regulations.

Queen Anne’s County is regulated by the General Provisions (Titles 1-6) and the Local Provisions (Title 27) of the Alcoholic Beverages Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

At least two members of the Board shall be members of the political party that at the last preceding gubernatorial election polled the second highest number of votes in the county for Governor.
